A very different one, but sometimes a shopping trip is essential, knowing places to take Betty is useful, as you know she likes to come along everywhere (read - I like to take her everywhere).

Junction 32 in Castleford is a great place to go, it is an outlet shopping place so the options and cost can reflect that, but I’m no fashion follower so it’s no problem for me, they have some well known branded shops along with some great home decor shopping places, I love home shopping and even better, places to buy books or craft supplies. The surface of Junction 32 is smooth throughout, posing no problems for the scooter, some shops can be a smaller and with units etc. but this is the case for all shopping places and knowing your mobility device is the key to navigating this. However, it is an outside space, there is cover close to the shop doors, but you could be at risk to the elements should it rain, or snow, not that I would venture out in the scooter in the snow. There is ample seating along the way, should you want to rest, or don’t fancy going in the shop with someone else.

Lot’s of the stores are dog friendly and a sign on the door will show this, with a map indicating which are suitable on the website, the staff were even more welcoming of Betty than they were me! All the cafes, of which there is a decent amount of choice, have outside seating so Betty can sit with, whilst I’m enjoying a relaxing drink. There are often food trucks outside the shops which can do some great food.

As shopping centres go, it is a great one, and allowing dogs can only be a positive.

Tip - find the sign on the shop window indicating dog friendly shops.
